Chesapeake Multicultural Resource CenterWhere: Eastern Shore (Easton, MD)
By coordinating services and informational programs, The Chesapeake Multicultural Resource Center (ChesMRC) empowers people from different cultures to become successful and engaged members of our community. Through education, we strive to breakdown cultural barriers that arise from differences in language, appearance or ethnic traditions.
Esperanza Center (Catholic Charities)Where: Baltimore The Esperanza Center is a comprehensive immigrant resource center that offers hope and essential services to people who are new to the United States. Immigrants from all over the world have received important resources and compassionate guidance at the Esperanza Center since 1963. Dedicated staff and volunteers provide services and referrals, ESL education, healthcare, and low-cost immigration legal services to thousands of immigrants each year.
Freedom for ImmigrantsWhere: Maryland (all areas)
Freedom for Immigrants is an abolitionist organization working to end immigration incarceration. A dedicated team of volunteers help run the organization’s National Immigration Detention Hotline. 
KIND (Kids In Need of Defense)KIND’s Baltimore field office continues to build a robust network of pro bono attorneys and interpreters to support with our mission of representing unaccompanied children in search for safety in their immigration proceedings. These children may have experienced persecution in their home countries, trafficking, abuse, abandonment, neglect or been victims of crimes in the U.S. and more. LASOSWhere: Harford Country (Bel Air) LASOS, Inc (Linking All So Others Succeed), in Harford County, Maryland, is a non-profit organization that provides adult literacy classes in civics, financial literacy, technology and citizenship, at risk youth mentoring and family literacy programs for non-native English speaking residents of Harford County. We also provide on-site translation as well as a network of service providers that assist in the integration process.
Luminus Network Luminus empowers New Americans by offering legal, social, and employment services to help them achieve their goals. As a volunteer, you play a critical role in moving us towards this vision by delivering culturally competent services to address our clients’ holistic needs. By making the commitment to serve as a Luminus volunteer, you will help refugees, asylees, new and first-generation achieve their goals and participate fully in community life.(Formerly FIRN)
Pro Bono Resource Center of MarylandWhere: Maryland (all areas)
Help Needed: Interpreters for immigrant children and families at risk of deportation because they must appear before the immigration courts. Pro Bono Resource Center of Maryland (PBRC) is looking for Spanish-speaking students and professionals who can offer interpreting services for our attorney volunteers. Opportunities include volunteering at PBRC’s clinics and events or meeting with volunteer attorneys directly to interpret for them during client meetings. The greatest need is for Spanish-speaking students and professionals who can volunteer in Baltimore City and Baltimore, Montgomery, and Prince George’s Counties. Topic areas include: helping unaccompanied immigrant children and immigrant families, defending consumers, assisting seniors, and more! Interpreters can choose the scope of their volunteering commitment. Shore Legal AccessWhere: Eastern Shore (Talbot, Kent, Dorchester, Queen Anne, Caroline, Wicomico, Worcester, and Somerset) Help Needed: Attorneys in multiple areas of law, including Family Law, Landlord/Tenant, Criminal Record Expungement, Life & Estate Planning, and Consumer Debt matters. In addition, Shore Legal Access frequently needs volunteer interpreters. Shore Legal Access connects low-income individuals and families who need civil legal services with volunteer attorneys and community resources.
